ACTAccess for ACT!
 

 ACTAccess is an ACT! Add-On that give you access to external databases from within ACT!

Version 3.5 Update is now available! Supports ACT 2005!

With ACTAccess you can associate an MS Access database with each ACT! database and have the contents of the database appear within ACT! You can link each table in the Access database uniquely so that only those records relevant to the current contact are displayed ("One-To-Many").

ACTAccess also lets you map fields between ACT! and Access which can then be used to exchange data in either direction

How do I create a lookup of contacts based on the activities that I have scheduled with them?

Follow these steps:

1) Choose the View Menu, and click Task List. The Task List view appears.
 

2) Choose the View Menu, and click Filter Task List. The Filter Activities dialog box appears.
 

3) Set the filters to display the activities you want to view. You can filter on date, type, priority, and more to get just the activities you want to see.
 

4)Then right-click in the window, and on the shortcut menu click Create Lookup. ACT! creates a lookup based on the contacts listed in the Task List view and returns to the Contacts view.

How to setup the Dialer feature in ACT! 7

The Dialer feature in ACT! allows you to place a call to a contact using the Phone number from with in ACT!. You can also time the call and create History of the call. Use the following steps to setup the Dialer:
 

1) Launch ACT!
 

2) Click the Tools menu, and then click Preferences. The Preferences dialog box appears.

3) Click Dialer Preferences under the Communication tab. The Dialer Preferences dialog box appears.

4) Enable the Use dialer option.
 

5) Click your communication device from the Modem or line drop-down.
Note: The Setup option will be specific for your modem and version of Windows. (Please refer to your modem and Windows documentation.)

6) Verify the data in the Location field. If needed, click Properties and make the necessary changes.

7) Enable the Hide dialer after dialing option. By default this option is not enabled.
 

If desired, clear the option for Start timer automatically on outgoing calls.
 

8) Click OK to save your changes. The Preferences dialog box re-appears.

 

Word Tip

Remove All Formatting in Two Easy Steps

Here's a great way to remove all of the formatting from a Word document or just a selected portion of the document:

1) Select the whole document by pressing CTRL+A or just select the portion of the document you wish to change.


2) Press CTRL+SHIFT+N.


Presto! All of your formatting is removed from the document or selection.

 

Excel Tip

To prevent text from extending beyond the report width:

1) First, ensure that the typed text was only entered into cell A59.


2) Select cells A59:D59.
 

3) From the Edit menu, select Fill and then Justify.
 

4) Click OK. The following message appears: Text will extend below selected range. (Before clicking OK, ensure that the cells below row 60 are empty.)
